80's Fashion Party
by Joy Childs
(Randallstown, Md.)
I just recently hosted an 80's fashion party. The party consisted of everyone participating in the event to wear 80's gear. Tickets were sold at $7 in advance and $10 at the door. The event was held at a community hall. Tickets included a mixture of 80's 90's and even and today's favorite tunes, cocktails and food. I managed to sell about 70 tickets for this event. Only about 25 managed to attend due to the weather conditions. We had a drawing for 5 people who really weren't sure of the drawing. The drawing consist of the 5 people who's number were picked to have a dance contest. The person that won received $10 in cash and a free photo. By the end of the night we had 1st 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the persons that wore the best 80's wear. I've seen tutu's to leather pants, neon socks, fanny packs, fingerless gloves and more. Winners received trophies and gift cards for participating. We had a blast at the party even though we got 20" of snow that night it was all worth it. I just love planning parties I think my main problem is getting the information out to the people. This is my main weakness. Can you help me?
