Getting Word Out
by: Sirena

Joy ~ This sounds like an absolute blast! Except it makes me feel old ;-) It used to be we dressed up for 60's and 70's parties....now they are having "retro" parties of when *I* was in school! ;-) I'm sure I even still have some neon boxed away somewhere...

As far as helping you...are you referring to how to get information out to people? It all depends on who your target market is - if it's a select group of people or open to the public, and so on.

Of course, if it's a select group of people, doing a combination of email blasts and "snail mail" postcards is best - email is easily spammed or overlooked. If your event is open to the public, then you can do anything from advertising to flyers. I'd have to know more details about your target group to give a better answer.

One of the latest trends that I am slowly learning about is social media (Facebook, Linked In, and Twitter). I always thought these were just fun ways for teenagers to connect - but they offer great ways for businesses (or planners) to connect to customers (or attendees). You can search "groups" in any of them and get the word out that way - there are entire courses devoted to this, but it's worth looking into.

I hope this helps, and thanks for the fun idea!
